The Foam Plate Hovercraft is a great project for all ages, in families or in group activities. Using a battery powered fan and a foam plate, you can make your own hovercraft that will float on a cushion of air. This hovercraft will glide over most smooth surfaces, including water.

In an unfortunate turn of events, it appears the manufacturer of the hand-held fan used is this project has discontinued production of the fan. We are currently searching for an acceptable alternative. Once we do we'll update the PDF instructions. For now, please be aware of the obstacle in this project because of difficulty you may experience finding the proper fan.
